Coach
Stacey Welsh
Philosophy
Stacey is a strong believer in incorporating training into the daily life of an endurance athlete. She says, “I have normally been sporty, the cycling and triathlon all started with a charity bike ride from London to Paris where we came into Paris the day before the Tour. What an experience! After seeing that 70 miles a day is achievable (if you have all day to do it), I was eager for the next challenge. The rest is, as they say, history. The distances slowly got longer ………. And I plan to carry on going. A passion is to make sport normal in people’s lives and encourage cycle to work schemes.”
Athlete Palmares
Race Across America Mixed Pair (First British Mixed Pair), Race Around Ireland (Inaugural race and again First British Mixed Pair), Paris Breast Paris finisher), 1st woman in 12 Hour TT, Multi IM finisher, Club champion: Short, Medium and Long distance (in different years) and raced for GB in Age Group World Championships in two different years.
Stacey now has 4 Norseman Extreme and 5 Lanzarote IM finishes to her name and is currently coaching at Triviera in Switzerland.
